The Regulation, Evaluation, and Governance Lab (RegLab)
RegLab partners with government agencies to design and evaluate programs, policies, and technologies that modernize government. We are an interdisciplinary team of legal experts, data scientists, social scientists, and engineers who are passionate about building an evidence base and high impact demonstration projects for better government. Our home at Stanford allows us to leverage state-of-the-art advances in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and causal inference to build a bridge between government agencies and academic frontiers in data science.
RegLab has an extensive track record working with local and national government agencies and nonprofits, including partnerships with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Santa Clara County Public Health Department (Covid-19 Response), Seattle & King County Public Health, King County Department of Public Defense, and Orange County Superior Court.
Each summer we host of group of graduate fellows and undergraduate research assistants at our Summer Institute. Meet past cohorts here.
