Julian Nyarko is an Associate Professor at Stanford Law School and Associate Director at HAI. His research investigates how new computational methods can be used to study questions of legal and social scientific importance. Much of Julian’s work focuses on the use of computational linguistics in contract law & design as well as the intersection of algorithmic decision making & law.
Before coming to Stanford, Professor Nyarko studied law at the University of Hamburg Law School and received both an LL.M. and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. In addition, he was a Fellow in Empirical Law and Economics at Columbia Law School.
