Tyler Hoffman

(2023) Summer Graduate Student Fellow

Tyler D. Hoffman is a Ph.D student in Geography at Arizona State University and a member of the Spatial Analysis Research Center. His work aims to better represent and mathematically model spatial problems and to expand understanding of core geographical concepts, such as process and scale. Through algorithm design, he seeks to advance the principled use of (spatial) statistical learning for generating reliable knowledge in policy decision-making, to cultivate spatial thinking in (quantitative) social science, and to critically analyze the assumptions underlying computational research to ensure equitable outcomes.
