Rui-Jie is a CS PhD student at Brown University studying the legal and human-centered aspects of algorithmic technologies. She recently graduated with an S.M. in Technology and Policy from MIT, where she was also a research assistant at CSAIL and co-chair of the AI Ethics and Policy Group.  She has also interned at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Sony AI, the U.S. Census Bureau, and Google. In 2021, she graduated from Scripps College with a joint B.A. in computer science and mathematics.
