Rawan Dareer is the founder of Hakimu, which is building pan-African AI-powered legal infrastructure, beginning in partnership with the Judiciary of Kenya. Prior to founding Hakimu, Rawan clerked for the Chief Justice of the Rwandan Supreme Court where she provided recommendations to enhance the capacity of Rwanda’s Courts, support the introduction of precedent in the nation’s civil/ common law harmonization, and integrate AI into judicial practice. She has contributed to research for the UN Situation Report on International Migration and supported the development of a Code of Conduct for the Kuwaiti Parliament. Rawan received a J.D. from Stanford University, an MSc from the University of Oxford, and a B.A. from NYU Abu Dhabi.
