Isabel Gallegos

Isabel Gallegos is a coterminal student at Stanford University, working towards her B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, with a minor in Education. She has previously conducted undergraduate research in the Stanford Laboratory of Quantitative Imaging and Artificial Intelligence and the Stanford Machine Intelligence for Medical Imaging Research Group on opportunistic disease screening and uncertainty estimation techniques for medical machine learning models. She has also completed internships at Sandia National Laboratories, Microsoft, Apple, and Jane Street Capital. Her main research interests are in using AI and machine learning to find patterns in data that inform solutions to societal challenges, and she hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in Computer Science. Outside of academics, Isabel has served as the President of the Society of Latinx Engineers and the Outreach Chair and an Inclusion Lead for Women in Computer Science.
