(2022) Summer Graduate Student Fellow

Helen Webley-Brown is an incoming PhD student in Political Science at MIT. Helen graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a B.A. in Political Science in May. As an undergraduate, she held research internships at The Bail Project and the Surveillance Technology Oversight Project. These experiences have shaped her current interest in examining how the US government’s use of AI and Big Data–particularly in the criminal legal system–is changing the way civilians experience and perceive the state.
