Christie Lawrence is a second-year student at Stanford Law School and concurrent MPP candidate at Harvard Kennedy School focusing on the intersection of emerging technologies and national security. At Stanford, she serves as the Co-President of the Stanford Law and Technology Association, Stanford AI & Law Society, and Stanford National Security & the Law Society and was also a research assistant for Stanford’s Institute for Human-Centered AI, where she wrote on enhancing international cooperation in AI research. She previously interned in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York in the Complex Fraud and Cybercrime Unit and Criminal Civil Rights Unit. Prior to Stanford, she was a Director for Research and Analysis at the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence, where she focused on fostering international cooperation on AI and associated technologies. She also worked for the Cyber Project at Harvard’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, at the State Department, and as a management consultant.
