Anna-Maria Gueorguieva is a PhD student at the University of Washington Information School researching bias in language models, AI policy, and government usage of AI. Her work focuses on how abstract legal and ethical requirements for AI can be operationalized, evaluated, and achieved through technical and policy solutions. Before her PhD, she graduated with a B.A. in Data Science and Legal Studies from UC Berkeley and worked at the Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Technology in Sofia, Bulgaria researching technical evaluations for proveable compliance to the EU AI Act.
