Stephanie Wang is a PhD student in the Computer and Information Science department at the University of Pennsylvania, where she is a member of Penn HCI and is advised by Professor Danaé Metaxa.

Her research combines online experiments and qualitative methods from HCI and computational social science to examine how AI is reshaping information ecosystems, with a particular focus on civic information. She also designs and conducts audits of AI systems to evaluate issues of fairness and bias, and to guide interventions that mitigate harms.

She holds an MS in Computer Science and a BS in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University, and previously worked as a software engineer at Apple.
