Sarfaraz Alam

Postdoctoral Scholar

Sarfaraz Alam is a Postdoctoral Scholar in Geophysics at Stanford University, where he is modeling nitrate transport in groundwater and surface water to improve approaches to enforcement. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of California Los Angeles, with a major in Civil Engineering. At UCLA, he received a Dissertation Year Fellowship and Outstanding Ph.D. student award. His research interests include integrated hydrologic modeling, contaminant transport, remote sensing, and machine learning. Sarfaraz is an author of nine peer-reviewed journal articles and has presented his research in more than ten international conferences. He earned his M.S. and B.S. in Water Resources Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.
