Ben Chugg

Ben Chugg is Lead Research Analyst with the RegLab. He holds an M.Sc. with distinction in Mathematics and the Foundations of Computer Science from the University of Oxford and a B.Sc. with combined honours in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of British Columbia (UBC). Ben served as a Research Fellow (Computational Science) at RegLab from 2019-2021. Before joining the Reglab, he worked on submodular optimization problems as a research intern at the RIKEN Center for Advanced Intelligence Project in Tokyo and on problems in theoretical computer science at UBC’s Algorithms Lab. His primary focus at RegLab is on designing algorithms for problems in environmental enforcement and tax regulation.
