Arun Frey

Data Scientist

Arun Frey is a Data Scientist at the Regulation, Evaluation, and Governance Lab (RegLab) at Stanford University, working on developing machine learning solutions to modernize government processes. 

Prior to joining RegLab, Arun worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Leverhulme Centre for Demographic Science at the University of Oxford. His academic research was awarded the 2022 National Academy of Sciences Cozzarelli Prize, and was covered by the New York Times, the Economist, The BBC, and other outlets.

Arun holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Oxford, and was a Visiting Fellow at Harvard University’s Sociology Department between 2020 and 2021. In 2022, Arun served as a fellow at the Data Science for Social Good (DSSG) program at Carnegie Mellon University.
